Life Between Trees is the blog where anything goes. Expect a variety of posts–everything from quotes to essays to songs to updates on my often mundane life.
The blog gets its name from a talk I heard at Forest Home Summer Camp back in 2005. The speaker was talking about how we live in a time that is “in between trees.” The first tree she mentioned was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil; the tree that Adam and Eve ate of in Genesis 3. The other tree, the Tree of Life, is found in Revelation 22. “…the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Nothing accursed will be found there any more” (Rev. 22:2b-3).
From the beginning of time to the very end, these two trees are like bookends for the story of humanity. My life is contained in this story. This day, this hour, this minute that I live is lived in the middle.
This is life between trees.
